I have a large portfolio of websites and also make sites for people I know (commercially and for personal reasons). Commercial sites really depend on how big the company is and what their server usage would be to determine their hosting plan. For my personal sites and sites I create for family, I will almost always choose a shared web hosting plan. The main reason is that it is affordable for me and family members who are just looking to have something simple and up for people they know. With some plans, I find you can host multiple domains and for many personal sites, I group them all under one plan to save even more.
