Both rap and hip hop are an admired form of music, specially in the UK and United States of America and have been since the early 70’s. The word ‘rap’ was derived in the late sixties from a slang word that means conversation and is also known as ‘MCing’ and ‘DJing’.

Made up of both rapping and record scratching, rap and hip hop has a couple of historical eras, ‘old school’ era from 1970 to 1985 and ‘golden age’ era from 1985 up until today.

Formerly from the Bronx, hip hop has become wide-spread, especially in New York via the Jamaican community, and download beats continues to spread throughout the world.
