My husband, Bob and I were invited to a New Year’s Eve costume party, so we started looking for couples fancy dress costume ideas. We wanted something that was instantly recognizable so people would not spend the evening asking us who we were supposed to be. We went as Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers as they appeared in the 1935 film “Top Hat.” Bob looked dashing in his top hat, white tie and tails, and he could easily pass for Astaire in another time. I spared no expense and had a custom made recreation of the spectacular feather dress Rogers wore in the same movie.
